Edwardsville District 7’s School Board Work Session on February 9, 2026

-The board received an update on the Edwardsville High School South renovation plan.
The plan would add administrative offices to the EHS South building, creating a
centralized location for district operations. Some offices would remain at Hadley. The
plan would reduce the reliance on leased office space.
The estimated cost is $700,000 - $750,000, which would be paid from the district’s
Operation and Maintenance Fund.
-The board discussed other districtwide facility needs: parking lot repairs, exterior
maintenance and reinforcement at multiple schools, and the replacing or reupholstering
of the seats at the EHS auditorium.
-Lincoln School renovations update included the cost of furniture, fixtures, equipment
and asbestos abatement.
-Details about the district’s new K-5 physical education curriculum (SHAPE P.E.) were
discussed.The new curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of the updated
federal program and the Illinois state standards. Estimated cost $65,000.
